30 mm Mounts for Dovetail Rails
30 mm has become the most common tube diameter on modern riflescopes, as it allows greater light transmission and more internal adjustment range. For 9-11 mm dovetail rails we offer mounts from Anschütz Optics and Sportsmatch UK.
Ring Mount, Block Mount, or Adjustable
The Anschütz Optics ring mount 30 mm is available in Low, Medium and High heights, each two-piece and screw-fixed. For an especially compact, one-piece build, we offer the Anschütz Optics block mount 30 mm (High). If you need an adjustable height, choose the variable ring mount 30 mm.
Sportsmatch UK: Extra-High and Medium
From Sportsmatch UK we carry both the extra-high, two-piece ATP61 for optics with a large objective diameter and the medium-height TO35C for a classic, compact mounting position.

Frequently Asked Questions About 30 mm Dovetail Mounts
Why has 30 mm become the standard?
A 30 mm tube allows more light transmission and greater internal windage/elevation adjustment range than a 1" tube – which is why many modern riflescopes now use this diameter.
When do I need an extra-high mount like the ATP61?
Riflescopes with a large objective diameter (e.g. 50 mm or more) need more clearance between the barrel and optic so they don't touch the barrel or forend – an extra-high mount is the solution.
Ring mount or block mount – what's the difference?
Two-piece ring mounts allow flexible positioning along the rail, while block mounts are one-piece and offer a particularly compact, rigid design.
How tight should I tighten the mount?
Recommended torque is usually around 2.0 Nm for the ring screws at the riflescope and around 3.4 Nm for fixing the mount to the rail. Overtightening can damage the scope tube.
