Compressors, Hand Pumps and Carbon Bottles for Your PCP Air Rifle

With hand pumps, compressors and carbon bottles, we offer you different ways to fill your PCP air rifle with compressed air. Hand pumps are the simplest, but also the most strenuous way to refill your air rifle. In most cases, we recommend a compressor for shooting at home and a matching carbon bottle for shooting at the range or on the field. With these two options, filling your air rifles is easy, fast and effortless.

Compressors for PCP Air Rifles

A PCP compressor makes you independent of external filling stations and is the most convenient solution for regular filling at home. The Hill EVO-310 (formerly EC-3000) is the result of over 180 years of engineering development at Hill Pumps in Sheffield, UK. It features automatic air purging, a high-precision digital pressure sensor with an additional analogue gauge, and can be set steplessly from 50 bar to 310 bar – for reliable, low-moisture filling.

For particularly high fill pressures, the AEA Compressor 480bar delivers up to 480 bar (7000 PSI) – significantly more than the usual 300 to 310 bar range of conventional compressors. It runs oil-free and air-cooled, features automatic shut-off plus mechanical and electronic safety mechanisms, and can be operated on either 220/230V AC or 12V DC – ideal for both home use and the field.

Hand Pumps for PCP Air Rifles

A hand pump is a flexible, power-independent solution for filling air guns – especially handy for smaller cartridges or as a mobile addition to a compressor. The Hill MK5 Pro is the premium model among hand pumps, made in the UK, with a nickel-plated finish and the patented Dry-Pac filter system that removes around 90% of the moisture from the intake air. It fills up to 310 bar (4,500 PSI) and is available with or without an additional hose with 1/8" BSP connection.

The Gamo Flex Arrow hand pump is a compact and reliable alternative up to 310 bar fill pressure, with a foldable stand for secure footing, an integrated moisture filter and an easy-to-read gauge mounted directly on the pump. 1/8" BSP and Foster adapters are already included.

Carbon Bottles for the Range

Carbon bottles are the practical complement to a compressor at home: once filled, they supply you with compressed air at the range or on the field, independent of any power source. Our carbon bottles are available in 0.5 litre, 1.1 litre and 3.0 litre sizes, each with a working pressure of 300 bar and a test pressure of 450 bar to EN12245 standard. All bottles are CE certified. Please note: the 1.1-litre and 3.0-litre bottles are not compatible with the EDgun pEaZy Fill Adapter (Foster Quickfill) – matching accessories can be found directly on the respective product page.

Compressed-Air Bottles for Specific Weapon Systems

For certain models we offer purpose-built compressed-air bottles, such as the Daystate compressed-air bottle for the Daystate Alpha Wolf, Delta Wolf and Red Wolf. These bottles are precisely matched to the respective weapon system and certified to ISO 11119-2.

Frequently Asked Questions About Compressors, Hand Pumps and Carbon Bottles

Should I buy a compressor or a hand pump?

For regular filling at home, we recommend a compressor, as it works quickly and without physical effort. A hand pump is a good mobile addition or for occasional refilling on the go.

How do I fill my air rifle at the range?

The most practical way is a carbon bottle filled beforehand at home with a compressor. It supplies you with compressed air on site, independent of any power source.

Are the carbon bottles compatible with every fill adapter?

Not always: for example, the 1.1-litre and 3.0-litre carbon bottles are not compatible with the EDgun pEaZy Fill Adapter (Foster Quickfill). Matching accessories can be found directly on the respective product page or under Accessories and Adapters.

How high can the fill pressure be?

This depends on the specific device: our carbon bottles are rated for a working pressure of 300 bar, while the AEA compressor delivers up to 480 bar. What always matters is the maximum permitted fill pressure of your air rifle or tank according to the manufacturer's specifications.
