The Air Arms S400 is one of the most popular top-tier, single-shot, pre-charged pneumatic sporting rifles. It's built with the same care and precision as its 10-shot counterpart and feels just as at home on the range as on a Hunter Field Target course. At the heart of the S400 is a powerful, smooth-cycling bolt that feeds a Lothar Walther match-quality barrel built to Air Arms specifications. Every pellet is hand-loaded through a generous breech, and the comfortable bolt handle makes cocking and loading fast, safe and simple. Rounding out the package is stylish woodwork from the renowned Minelli Group, an adjustable two-stage trigger with a cross-bolt safety, and a built-in pressure gauge.

Four Stock Variants to Choose From

We carry the S400 in four configurations: brown (ambidextrous), beech, right-handed, green (ambidextrous), and walnut, right-handed. Specifications across all variants: .177 caliber, 7.5 joule muzzle energy, 102cm overall length, 49.35cm barrel length, 3kg weight. Tip for club and precision shooters: any S400 can be converted to a diopter sight in just a few steps – ideal for club or competition shooting.

Air Arms S400 Sniper – Maximum Precision and Control

The S400 Sniper was developed in close collaboration between Air Arms and jabolo as a direct evolution of the proven platform, with a clear focus on maximum shot accuracy. Its key advantage is the sniper single-shot system: every pellet is deliberately hand-loaded, giving the shooter full control over each individual shot. Technically it's built on a classic bolt-action system – pulling back the cocking lever cocks the system, the pellet is placed directly into the loading trough, and pushing the bolt forward and locking it feeds it cleanly into the barrel. Combined with the Lothar Walther match barrel and a finely adjustable two-stage trigger, the result is an extremely precise overall package. The tactical M-LOK forend and AR-compatible platform (including an 11-slot Picatinny rail, AR15 grip and Mil-Spec buffer tube) offer maximum adaptability – perfect for field target, hunter field target, benchrest and any discipline where absolute accuracy counts. Specifications: 4.5mm (.177) caliber, up to 7.5 joules, 99cm overall length, 2,975g, Lothar Walther match barrel (49.35cm), single-shot, compatible with Mil-Spec buffer-tube rear stocks (e.g. from MDT) and other MDT accessories.

Fill Probe and Accessories

The fill probe on Air Arms air rifles uses a 1/8" quickfill fitting. If your pump, bottle or compressor uses a Foster quickfill fitting instead, you'll need a matching adapter. More accessories such as spare magazines, seal kits and silencer adapters are on our Air Arms accessories page.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Air Arms S400

What sets the S400 Sniper apart from the classic S400?

Both are single-shot PCP rifles, but the Sniper has been consistently tuned for maximum precision: a bolt-action system instead of a tip-up breech, a tactical M-LOK forend, an AR-compatible platform, and compatibility with Mil-Spec buffer-tube accessories.

Which stock variant should I pick?

Mechanics and precision are identical across all four color variants (brown, beech, green, walnut) – the choice comes down to taste. Just note that beech and walnut are currently only available right-handed, while brown and green are ambidextrous.

Yes, the S400 can be converted to a diopter sight in just a few steps – ideal for anyone shooting with open sights instead of a scope in club or competition settings.

Which adapter do I need for filling?

The fill probe uses a 1/8" quickfill fitting. If your pump, bottle or compressor has a Foster quickfill fitting instead, you'll need a matching adapter, available in our accessories range.
